About Swedish Addicks
Swedish Addicks is an official supporters club of Charlton Athletic Football Club.
The Club held a founding meeting the last weekend of May 2005 to become an official supporters club. The Club is run on a non-profit-making basis and the purpose of the Club is to bring together all Swedish Charlton supporters and to spread the knowledge of Charlton in Sweden.

The idea of a Swedish supporters club came about as a result of Charlton starting a special section in its supporter network for international supporters. In that Charlton have never been the favourite team of the masses in Sweden the problem remained of how to get in contact with the supporters which apparently existed round and about in Sweden. For that reason it took some time before the seed of the organisation germinated through the Charlton page on "svenskafans.se". Magnus began writing there in connection with the start of the 2002/03 season. After that he battled on alone with the writing until the spring of 2004 when Lars came into contact with the site and gradually began to help with match reports and articles.

After some discussion via e-mail and telephone between the correspondets ideas and suggestions were exchanged, one more extreme than the previous. In connection with a trip to The Valley in October 2004 the two correspondets met for the first time and both were still convinced that there should be a Swedish supporters club for Charlton fans. So as not to jump in too deep they decided to start a network to see how great the interest was. Through mailings from "svenskafans" and Charlton's International Supporters Club the number of interested parties increased rapidly. After further discussions with these via e-mail it was decided that the interest was sufficiently strong to take the step of forming a supporters' club, Swedish Addicks.
